Statement From Samuel Kwok
Article by Samuel Kwok added on 18 Feb 2014.
It is with regret that we acknowledge the departure of Tony Massengill from the Samuel Kwok Wing Chun Association. Tony was with us for several years and contributed a great deal towards helping the Association to become what it is now. I would like to thank Tony for assisting me in writing my books, Mastering Wing Chun and The Traditional Wing Chun Dummy, as well as helping me make my DVD series on Wing Chun.
These books and videos have been instrumental in bringing people from around the world into our association and helping us grow into a truly worldwide organization. They also help preserve the art of Ip Man’s Wing Chun for generations after us to study. Since Tony's leaving there have been many questions and accusations about various issues. It is our desire to put all of this behind us and move forward. In a previous statement it was stated that it was only a small thank you to have awarded Tony Massengill a masters certificate in return for his assistance with certain projects. I want to clarify that I am truly thankful for all of his help, but this was not intended to question his ability. Tony has accomplished much in his training and while he was with us he was awarded a master's certificate for which he was worthy of the honour. Regrettably, Tony has chosen to go his own way. We are sorry for his departure and wish him all the best in his future endeavours. It is the goal of the Samuel Kwok Wing Chun Association to promote and pass on Ip Man Wing Chun and work peacefully with all.
